Liverpool host Bayern Munich at Anfield in the Champions League round of 16 first leg. Bayern are undefeated in their last 7 matches for UEFA Champions League. They have scored at least two goals in 6 of them. They scored 3 in their last Bundesliga match against Augsburg, but as manager Kovac admit their mind was at tonight’s clash. They should take advantage of the absence of Van Dijk and Lovren and score again if they want to be on the next stage. Liverpool on the other hand, have had over a week to prepare for this significant match. The Reds only lost one home match this season in all competitions. And it was back in September. Both teams have defence issues, and probably this will settle the match.
The other match of the night is Olympique Lyonnais – Barcelona. Both teams were unbeaten in the group stage. Lyonnais is obviously the underdog of this couple, but we have to keep in mind some important facts. They are in great form and they beat Paris Saint Germain for Ligue 1. Not an ordinary underdog. The absence of Nabil Fekir is a great loss form them though. Barcelona will have Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele ready for the battle, but they will need something more if they want to pass to the next stage. An entertaining match is expected in which we can see goals from both sides.
Notts County are still bottom of the table in League 2. But they manage to get seven points from their last three games and so they are facing the future with more confidence. When they started the season they all have promotion in mind, but now they are struggling not to be in the relegation group. They can do it, mainly because they have a better team than their opponents. And tonight they can continue their winning pace against Newport Count. Newport put all their energies into Saturday’s clash with Manchester City for FA Cup.
Tranmere Rovers face their second away game in a row tonight when they visit Port Vale. They have won just one of their last 10 away league games. But they do score often. And they can make it tonight also, even they have to face Port Vale, a team with strong defence. So we will go with that.
Sunderland are undefeated in their last 5 matches against Gillingham in all competitions. And let’s face it they are a much better team than their tonight’s opponents. So they can go for the 6th in a row win. And it is predicted to be an easy one. So in order to find better odds for our betslip, we will go with the much higher Over 2.5 goals.
No matter of your betting choices or your team preferences tonight is going to be a pure football night. Few hours until the kick-off. Check here for a fascinating way to spend your spare time.
