In the opener of the festival’s third day, it is REAL STEEL that catches the eye. Could easily be 3/3 over larger obstacles if there was not the last fence exit during his debut but he recovered after this with 2 cosy wins with a combined 20 lengths margin. Despite the fact that Ruby Walsh has chosen another horse he is clearly the biggest danger.
In the feature race of the day, the Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle, I have a strong feeling we will observe the full strength of the mighty FAUGHEEN. He has an excellent record on both the Festival and over C&D and he ran effortlessly behind Apple’s Jade before falling 2 out when clearly had a lot to give to the race. He comes rested after this and if all pieces are set properly he can be the fairytale story of this year’s festival.
