Barcelona were running a pretty impressive unbeaten streak until they visited Inter in Milan. The Catalan giants lost 1-0, with that Hakan Calhanoglu goal late in the first half, and now they have to beat the Italians in Northern Spain in order to retake the leading seat when it comes to qualification to the Champions League knockout stage. The Barcelona vs Inter game is the highlight of the week in UEFA competitions.
It was always evident that this would be a tough group to get out of. Bayern will likely win first place, with Barcelona and Inter fighting for the second spot. The Bavarians lead the group with 9 points, followed by Inter, who have 6, Barcelona with 3, and Viktoria Plzen with no points.

Barcelona were quite impressive before the international break for the Nations League matches. Under Xavi’s management, the sleeping giants seemed like they were close to finally waking up. With only a single draw and straight wins, they were top of the Spanish La Liga standings, and their only loss in the season came in Munich, where actually Barcelona played great, but were just unlucky.
But after the teams re-assembled, there seems to be something wrong. Barcelona were lucky to win against Mallorca and Celta domestically but didn’t have the same amount of luck when visiting Inter. Is it a natural slump? Is it because of injury troubles? After all they are plenty of them. Barcelona will be without Memphis Depay, Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Hector Bellerin, Andreas Christensen, and Franck Kessie when hosting Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Inter’s story is pretty much the opposite. The club has been struggling in the Italian Serie A, where Inter are already 8 points behind Napoli, after just 9 matches. The win against Barcelona meant that Simone Inzaghi keeps his job. For now at least. Last Saturday’s clash against Sassuolo also bought him some time, after his side won 2-1 away, despite (once again) struggling.
Liverpool are clear favourites to win this one, valued at 1.45 by bookmakers with the best betting sites bonuses, while Inter are offered at 6.40. The draw is valued at 4.75.
The over/under line is set at 2.5 goals. Τhe over is at 1.60 and the under at 2.35. The Both Teams to Score Option is valued at 1.75, and the “No” is an underdog at 2.00.
Inter and Barcelona have met 15 times (10 for the Champions League including their game last week, and 4 for the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (now the Europa League).
