It was not long ago when Neymar insisted he wanted to spend the rest of his career with PSG. This seems to no longer be the case. Last week angry fans protested outside his house in Paris, blaming him (and his buddy, Lionel Messi) for yet another disappointing season in Europe. Under all that pressure, the Brazilian superstar has performed a major U-turn and is ready for a Premier League move that he has wanted for years.
According to Le Parisien, both Lionel Messi and Neymar are likely to leave the French capital this summer. The Argentinian is heavily linked with a Barcelona return or a transfer to Saudi Arabia, while the Brazilian is rumoured to be looking at a potential Premier League move.
Bookmakers believe the Brazilian will eventually remain at PSG, unlike Messi, who is offered at 4/11 to sign for any Saudi Premier League team to join his rival, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Lionel Messi to Barcelona scenario is offered at 2/1.
Now in Neymarâs case, Barcelona and Real Madrid are seen as the favourites, should he decide to leave (or if he is let go). Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Newcastle follow.
But if we believe what Neymar has said himself in the past, the Premier League is his dream and he has his preferred destinations in England. He once said that he has always admired Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. Now according to rumours, out of those four United and Chelsea are the ones that might be interested in signing him.
The 31-year-old is under contract with PSG until the summer of 2024 (plus one year as a player option). His team, however, seems keen to sell him as soon as possible.
