The Eastern Conference Champions have already played 18 matches in this season’s playoffs (out of a possible 21). After a hard-fought series against the Milwaukee Bucks (4-3), the reigning NBA Champions, they managed to win another Game 7 against the Miami Heat. A bit easier path for the Golden State Warriors, as they needed six games to win the series against the Memphis Grizzlies and five against the Dallas Mavericks.

Who will win the 2022 NBA Finals?

The Warriors have gone 9-0 at home this postseason, winning six games in double figures margin. On the contrary, the Celtics are the best away team in the postseason (7-2), but they struggled a lot at the TD Garden, winning only five of the nine games in this year’s Playoffs.

Golden State will return to the Finals, after two years of absence, for their sixth NBA Finals appearance since 2015. They have lost twice (2016, 2019), when they did not have the home-court advantage and won all three of the occasions (2015, 2017, 2018), when they had the home-court advantage.

Moreover, the series against the Mavericks ended in five games, which will provide additional time of rest for the Warriors. On the contrary, the Celtics will have to overcome the sore from the effort they have consumed the past month, playing 14 extra competitive matches in May.

Can they retain their unbeaten record at the Chase Center, matching one of the best away teams of the NBA Playoffs? They definitely can, as soon as they have the dynamic trio of Curry, Thompson and Green, players that have gone all the way to the Championship three times the past years. Their competitive nature and experience, combined with the fresh air provided by the supporting cast, is giving them the front foot on the series. The Celtics will fight as they always do this year, but their time will not come this year. They are a team to come, and have all the potential to dominate the next couple of years.

The Verdict: Warriors to win the series – 5/6 (22bet)

Stephen Curry’s time to shine… again?

“We are all extremely proud of what it took to get back here,” Curry said, after clinching the series against the Dallas Mavericks. He won the Magic Johnson Conference Finals MVP, for the very first time in his career. Although he is 34 years old and have recovered from a hand injury, he was sensational in the Conference Finals, facing Luka Doncic, one of the best point guards of the NBA. He finished the series with 23.8 points and 7.4 assists, alongside 6.6 rebounds per game and now he is aiming for his fourth Championship, and his first NBA Finals MVP Award, the lone which is missing from his glorious career collection. Will he make it against Jason Tatum, a much younger and more athletic point guard? He seems to be on a mission, his teammates know that he wants it and above all, he is dominant in the post season, recording 25.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game!

The Verdict: Stephen Curry to win the Finals MVP – 1/1 (22bet)
