Amrabat and Ten Hag will reunite at Man United

It was nine years ago when Erik Ten Hag met Sofyan Amrabat at Utrecht. The Moroccan midfielder always felt great about their relationship during their shared time in the Netherlands, as he stated that Ten Hag was more than keen to learn all the player’s advantages and disadvantages in the game.

This appreciation may be the catalyst for Amrabat’s next move. His impressive World Cup campaign drew interest from the greatest teams in Europe, which were ready to bring him to their roster last January. This didn’t happen but Amrabat grew together with Fiorentina, reaching two finals at the end of the season (Italian Cup and Europa Conference League final).

Buying Mason Mount from Chelsea is something to brag about, but Ten Hag is not ready to stop, despite some budget constraints. It is reported that both sides have already agreed to double the salary of the 26-year-old midfielder and now it remains to be seen what the Red Devils will discuss with Fiorentina.

The Italian side confirmed that United is yet to make an offer, while the team club could say no to a satisfactory one. The amount of this bid can reach the level of 26 million pounds, money that is not prohibitive.

Liverpool is out of the race despite the early interest, as the Reds have already acquired World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister and Hungarian sensation Dominik Szoboszlai.

Amrabat and Ten Hag parted ways back in 2017 when the first moved to Feyenoord and the second took a coaching role at Ajax. This will be their chance to meet again and evolve their game once more.
