Liverpool pave the way for a potential Szoboszlai deal

There is a new midfielder in town for Liverpool as the Reds are already discussing with RB Leipzig for a transfer regarding the name of Dominik Szoboszlai. Jurgen Klopp has sensed the need for a rebuild in the midfield, but he only acquired Alexis Mac Allister for Brighton.

Szoboszlai is an interesting choice as he is not what the fans have exactly in mind. He should be considered more of an attacker than a midfielder, in charge of creating all the scoring possibilities for the German DFB Pokal winners. His 48 appearances last season (for both the club and the Hungarian national team) attracted interest from many great clubs once again.

Klopp knows that a potential deal may be too complicated, being very difficult to reach an agreement for such a talented footballer. But that will not discourage the Reds, who have already made contact with Szoboszlai’s representatives, discussing contract details. The player has a €70 million release clause, but this kind of money will be up until June 30th. After that, Liverpool may have to wait until January to figure things out.

The positive side of this story is that both clubs (Liverpool and RB Leipzig) are in great spirits regarding their businesses. The Germans agreed on a Fabio Carvalho loan until the end of the season, making all sides pleased with this development.

RB Leipzig is not fond of selling one of their star assets for a bargain price, but the interest is still fresh, so Liverpool keeps exploring all the possible ways to end this successfully. The fans are worried that despite the roster needing a serious rebuild, there are not many new signings. The summer will be busy for the Reds in search of stability and continuity.
