The French football action is full of close battles and old rivalries, and Sunday’s matches are no exception. Let’s see my today’s Ligue 1 predictions, to return to our winning ways.
Ajaccio vs Nantes Betting tip
Early in this matchday, Ajaccio hosts Nantes, in a clash between two teams that try not to sink further in the Ligue 1 standings. Ajaccio achieved a 2-1 comeback win against Angers in midweek. The team sits currently in the relegation zone, but doesn’t know how to create chances and score enough goals to feel safe and comfortable.
At the same time, Nantes is in better form right now, despite its 0-2 loss against Marseille. La Maison’s great advantage is of course their defence, conceding only versus Marseille in their last six encounters.
Nantes can not lose this six-pointer against the team with the worst home record in the league. Scoring much is not an option for both teams, so under 2,5 goals is also the case.
Marseille vs Nice Betting Tip
The Mediterranean derby is also heating the fans of both teams, especially the ultra ones. Last year’s encounter at Nice was suspended after a pitch invasion and a conflict between fans and players. In that game, the Nice fans threw a bottle at Dimitri Payet while he was hitting a corner kick, so he bounced back. The rivalry between the supporters grows very fast year after year, with the outrage being pervasive at both ends.
The hosts are currently second in the league challenging for the title since the start of the season, while PSG struggles to find momentum after the World Cup.
Les Olympiens won 0-2 over Nantes and today should aim for the three points against a team that wins frequently right now, without dazzling with its performances. Didier Digard transformed Nice, aiming for a better finish in the season, accompanied by the European exit.
Marseille will prevail, but both teams know how to defend efficiently. Talking about this heating atmosphere though, I will add that over 4,5 bookings should be something to consider, with the bookies aiming high on this.
