Daily Football Tips (11 March): A betting field trip

Jude Bellingham Odds

It has been a cold white last couple of days in the UK. At least a handful of matches could be cancelled in the lower divisions and I don’t know how the weather might affect Premier League games. So I will instead look for warmer climates elsewhere. I’m travelling to continental Europe today, to get my best football picks from the daily schedule. Pack your backpacks and get aboard. It’s a betting field trip!

RB Leipzig vs Gladbach Betting Tips

I have to warn you that this will be a risk-taking day. My football tips won’t be the ones you might expect. I am going down the risky route, but this makes the reward even greater.

The first stop will be in Saxony. RB Leipzig host Gladbach a few days before their Champions League Round of 16 second-leg match against Manchester City. The Red Bulls have some important absences, including their most trustworthy scorer, Christopher Nkunku. Their manager, Marco Rose, will likely rest some of his most important units to have them ready for the City game, but it’s not like Gladbach will be 100% ready. A month after they sold their best goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, their new number 1, Jonas Omlin, and his backup, Jan Olschowsky, are both out. Which means that 34-year-old Tobias Sippel will make his 12th start in the Bundesliga in the last decade.

But we know Gladbach. They are absolutely bonkers. They can lose to a Sunday League team and come back by beating Bayern twice in a row. As a matter of fact, they have 3 wins and 3 draws in 8 games against top-6 teams this season. Pair that with the fact that Leipzig have to think about City, at least a little bit, I am ready to take a risk and bet on Borussia not losing.

Schalke vs Dortmund Football Tips

From one Borussia to another, we are heading to the West and to the fiercest derby in Germany and one of the most legendary in the World.

Schalke are getting better and better, but are still bottom of the league. Dortmund lost to Chelsea but are still top of the league. I expect the Royal Blues to play ultra-defensively. And it’s not like Dortmund have endless attacking options. Brandt is out, Reus is out, Moukoko is out. My gut tells me that in big matches it is the biggest personalities that make the difference, and Jude Bellingham is such a personality at a young age.

So my first instinct was to bet on him to score, but I am taking a step back and I am backing the Under 2.5 Goals option.

Bologna vs Lazio Betting Tips

We’re ending our journey in one of my favourite cities that I’ve never visited, aside from reading about it, Bologna. The local team hosts tired Lazio (who lost to Alkmaar on Tuesday for the Conference League).

Both teams know how to score. Bologna scored in 8 out of their last 9 home games. As for Lazio, one way or another they will get on the scoreboard. So, both teams to score is my bet of choice here.
