First, I want to refer to France’s latest drama regarding Deschamps’ choice to give the captain’s armband to Mbappe, something that led Griezmann to think of his early retirement from the national team’s football. Mbappe tries to bring stability back, but the problem is not so easy to solve. One thing is for sure: Mbappe will also try to prove that deserves to be the next captain (after Lloris’s retirement) despite all the speculations. The Netherlands is the best opponent possible because we talk about an elite team that doesn’t count much on its defensive abilities. Kyllian will surely find some chances and can score, continuing his amazing record with France’s national team.
Staying in the same match, I also believe that the hosts will pull this out. It will be hard for the Netherlands to keep up with France’s pace. I am a bit worried about how Deschamps will control his players’ emotions and if he succeeds in it, the team will prevail easily. An info regarding both choices: the Netherlands can’t count on Gakpo, De Ligt, Botman and Veerman due to their recent illness.
