Is the enemy of my enemy my friend? I don’t know about politics and social situations but in sports, especially South American football, this is certainly the case. And fate has a wicked sense of humour, which is demonstrated in the last matchday of this year’s Argentina Liga Profesional.
Boca Juniors and Racing Club fight for the title, as only one point separates them in the Argentina Liga Profesional standings. What is the irony? The irony is that Boca hosts Racing’s arch-rivals, Independiente, while Racing faces Boca’s nemesis, River Plate. So, is the enemy of my enemy my friend?
I have often stated that I steer clear of accumulator bets. That’s not my style of playing. This time, though, it is an acca I’m finding so intriguing. An acca with a total value of 2.51. Both games start simultaneously and it seems unlikely that any of the two title contenders will lose.
Boca Juniors vs Independiente Pick: Boca to win @1.40
Racing Club vs River Plate Pick: Racing to win @1.79
Accumulator @2.51
I cannot understand the odds here. You got a Bochum team that’s dead last in the Bundesliga standings. And then you got a high-flying Union that’s top of the League, 19 points ahead. How on earth is Union’s win valued at 1.95? We are talking about the most disciplined team in Europe, a model organisation that needs no star to show its quality. There’s no discussion here.
Bochum vs Union Berlin Pick: Union to win @1.95
Barcelona is in bad form, but have shown that they can win even when they are at their lowest. They are now facing an Athletic Bilbao team that’s playing dominating attacking football. The Williams brothers are knocking on Spain national team’s door ahead of the World Cup. There are certain defensive liabilities, but this works perfectly for our bet, using an Asian Handicap on goals.
Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao Pick: Over 3.0 goals @2.12
