Man United signs four Casemiro replacements!

Angelos Anastassopoulos April 29, 2023

Casemiro left Real Madrid for Manchester United last summer and he immediately showed that he is one of the best defensive midfielders to play in England in the last few years. The problem is that he is used to competing for the Champions League title and he feels that the Red Devils are not yet there. So he is ready to fall in for Bayern’s flirt. Manchester United know what Casemiro meant for Erik ten Hag’s team, so they want to bring in not one, not two, not three, but four replacements.

Casemiro to Bayern

It is no secret that Tomas Tuchel’s number one target this summer is Casemiro. The Brazilian defensive midfielder is ideal for the style of football he wants his Bayern side to play.

Manchester United could be forced to let the Brazilian go. For now, there is no comment from the club. The goal right now is fighting for the third spot in the Premier League standings. And of course, spoiling the Manchester City Treble by winning the FA Cup. But a Casemiro exit is in the cards, so replacements are already being discussed in Manchester.

Declan Rice

Declan Rice is United’s number one alternative for Casemiro, but things are not easy. He seems to be in close talks with Arsenal, who have been monitoring him for more than a year. The 24-year-old English international wants to leave West Ham and the Hammers are set to let him walk, but reports say that Rice has made a decision and that is not United… If United manage to statch him, they think they will have a central midfielder for a decade in him.

Joao Palinha

With all respect, it is evident that Joao Palinha is just too good for Fulham. The Portuguese international can dictate his own pace in midfield, allowing his teammates to focus more on attack. That is exactly what Casemiro has been doing for ten years, having built a career on this attribute. Palinha is slightly cheaper than Rice, but he is still not an easy target. Fulham know that they are sitting on a goldmine and will not let him go without serious compensation.

Moises Caicedo

Manchester United tried to sign Caicedo last January, but Brighton were not prepared to discuss the possibility. The Seagulls seem now more keen on having the talk and Erik ten Hag has informed the board that the Ecuadorian has the skills that he sees in his ideal central midfielder.

Romeo Lavia

Romeo Lavia is seen as a more long-term replacement. The 19-year-old Belgian has impressed ten Hag and he is one of the few bright spots in Southampton’s rather miserable season. The problem is that Manchester City have seen that as well and the Cityzens have a buy back clause from when they first sold Lavia to the Saints.
