Having lost their opening matches of the World Cup, the two teams know that the result of this Cameroon vs Serbia match might have them wave the tournament goodbye. Whoever loses might just start packing, so the stakes couldn’t be any higher.
Cameroon vs Serbia

Venue: Al Janoub Stadium (Al Wakrah)
A Cameroonese-born player, Breel Embolo, gave Switzerland the win against Cameroon and now the Indomitable Lions (arguably the best team nickname in international football) have to beat Serbia and hope that Brazil will not be all that motivated in four days when they meet them.
Cameroon is still looking for its first victory in the World Cup since 2002 when a Samuel Eto’o goal saw the team beat Saudi Arabia 1-0.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is no Eto’o. But he is a capable striker and should retain his position in the starting XI, despite a rather poor performance against Switzerland. Coach Rigobert Song cannot depend on Olivier Ntcham, who will miss the rest of the group stage, so Anguissa and Hongla will form the midfield duo once again.
Serbia knew how difficult of an opponent Brazil would be. The Brazilians were impressive to start the tournament and it is a compliment to Serbia’s talent that the score stayed at 2-0, with two Richarlison goals (the second being an absolute beauty).
Filip Kostic is questionable for the Cameroon vs Serbia game, but Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic are fit to go.
Cameroon (4-3-3): Onana; Fai, N’Koulou, Castelletto, Tolo; Anguissa, Ondoua, Hongla; Mbeumo, Choupo-Moting, Toko Ekambi
Serbia (3-5-2): V. Milinkovic-Savic; Milenkovic, Veljkovic, Pavlovic; Zivkovic, Gudelj, S. Milinkovic-Savic, Mladenovic, Tadic; Vlahovic, Mitrovic
Serbia is a better team and is the favourite to win for a reason. But the odds are not representative of the truth. A somewhat safer bet would be Both Teams to Score.
