FA Cup Predictions: All hail the Championship

FA Cup predictions

Full FA Cup action this weekend, with many teams ready to step up their game, improving a difficult season for everyone. The FA Cup 4th round has some excessive Premier League matchups, but our concern is on the lower divisions’ clashes. We should have in mind, that a competition with so many great teams from every major division of the country should have its own betting strategies, ready to offer tips on everything.

Ipswich vs Burnley Prediction

What will Vincent Kompany pull off his hat this time? Despite Burnley being not one of the most entertaining teams in the Premier League in recent years, the Belgian coach managed to build a squad which creates much on the pitch and at the same time finds itself in the first spot of the Championship standings. In the last round of the FA Cup, the Clarets eliminated Bournemouth in a magnificent display (2-4 win) proving that they are Premier League material. Corberan’s West Brom was a tough problem, but Burnley had the solution once more, returning from a goal down.

Ipswich is currently in League One, trying to get promoted. The 4-0 win against Morecambe was a relief, after 4 unsuccessful outings in the previous days. The only successful encounter was the 4-1 win over Rotherham United in the FA Cup.

I’m backing up Burnley’s ability to pull this one out. The squad has won nine consecutive matches and nine out of its last ten away matches against better teams than Ipswich. There is not much to say about the quality of the Championship leaders, who have many attacking options such as Barnes, Maatsen, Tella, Zahoury and Jay Rodriguez.

Blackburn vs Birmingham Prediction

Championship has the opposite effect on these two rivals. Rovers are sitting currently in fourth place in the standings and Birmingham is still far behind, just six points above the relegation zone. Both of them are not in great shape, but Blackburn knows how to perform better, exhausting all the possibilities for a promotion, even if it means that the team must compete in the playoffs.

The FA Cup could be a distraction for Birmingham after the team’s five consecutive losses. Eustace has no idea how to solve all the issues that keep the club behind on every major goal set. Preston was not a tough opponent to beat, but the North End team pulled a fantastic win away, growing the frustration of today’s visitors.

Blackburn should not have any problem this afternoon. Birmingham may not even score once, so a hosts’ win is my only standard thought, followed by a minimum of two goals scored in the game.
