World Cup Tips: Goals on the horizon

John R. Baldwin November 22, 2022

Day 4 of the World Cup and some pretty exciting matches are on the schedule. Will we have another giant-killing day, like yesterday, or will everything roll smoothly and calmly? I cannot answer that question. What I can say is that there are some real value bets on the horizon.

World Cup Tips (23 November)

I will walk you through my thought process of all four matches of the day before I reveal what my actual betting picks are. Sounds like a deal? Great. So without further ado, and without Freddie Adu, since he never played in the World Cup, let’s move on.

Morocco vs Croatia Prediction

The opening match of the day, namely Morocco vs Croatia is a tough cookie. Croatia has the know-how. They reached the Final in the previous edition of the World Cup and they followed that with an impressive Nations League campaign. Their leader, Luka Modric, is now 37 years old, but there is quality in this team.

But this amount of talent is present in the Moroccan squad as well. Their top players play in the biggest European leagues and they are experienced when it comes to big games. Oh, and they run. They run a lot.

My gut feeling is a draw, but I am not confident enough to bet on it. If you have a betting sign up bonus, it is a good idea to bet almost risk-free.

Germany vs Japan Prediction

Here’s another upset alert. Eight players in this Japan team play in the German Bundesliga and they are a team that can hurt Die Mannschaft. I wouldn’t object to a bet on the Blue Samurai, with a Draw No Bet coverage, a well-paid option at 4.75. But my pick is slightly different.

Both teams can score and this Germany vs Japan match can prove to be a scoring fest. Yes, Germany has no real striker, but their midfielders and wingers are scoring machines. But their defence is abysmal and the Japanese can exploit those weaknesses. I love the odds offered for both teams to score.

Spain vs Costa Rica Prediction

A Spain vs Costa Rica match is a clash between youth and experience. You can win nothing with babies, but you also cannot win when there’s nothing fresh there to spice things up.

I believe Spain will win. I can’t see Costa Rica pulling off a Saudi Arabia on them. But from what we’ve seen from Spain in the past few years is that anyone can put one past them. And Costa Rica has the quality to do so. So once more, I’m going with the both teams to score option.

Belgium vs Canada Prediction

And I’m wrapping things up with this one. Belgium vs Canada. I love this Canada team. They are young and passionate. Can they cut points from Belgium? It’s hard but not impossible.

What I truly believe is that Canada will be more aggressive than a pretty soft Belgium squad and I expect them to receive more bookings than their opponents.

So here you go. My predictions for today’s three games. Enjoy the World Cup and spice it up with some betting.
